5G Workshop Series
Started from 2013 with two days workshop on LTE and Beyond 4G led by current chair (2017) Dr Navin Kumar, the workshop series has got tremendous popularity. Industry has started supporting our initiative. Thanks for Nokia Inc. who hosts the one of the event of two each year that ComSoc conducts. Recently, we completed 7th in the series to discuss various aspects of 5G research to increase the awareness and see the original contribution from India in 5G Technology.

Advances in 5G Networks and HetNet (One of the most researches in Communication area) workshop is organised by IEEE Communications Society Bangalore Chapter jointly with IEEE Bangalore Section and aimed at providing in-depth knowledge in the area of Telecommunications Networks focused on Landscape of 5G, Security, Physical Layer, Small Cells and HetNet Technologies.
Advent of 5G era brings in it’s own challenges in the technology along with its immense opportunities, Industry and International experts of the domain share their experience at this workshop, which will be beneficial for the developers and researchers working in this cutting edge technology.
This programme will add great value to researchers, engineers, faculty and students who would like to get exposure to trends in Telecommunication Networking technologies, interact with technology experts, introduce & promote 5G and HetNet Technologies in their organisation/institutions, develop related skills.

3-days Workshop jointly with GISFI
“5G IoT” 21 -23 July, 20163-days Workshop on “5G Internet of Things (5G IoT)“, jointly with GISFI (Global ICT Standardization Forum for India) 21-23 July, 2016 @ Amrita School of Engineering, Kasavanahalli, Bangalore -50035 was successfully concluded.There were over 200 participants from different parts of India and delegates from abroad.The president IETE, New Delhi Ms Smirti Dagur was the Chief Guest while Ms Tulika Pandey, the director DeitY (Broadband and convergence) group was the Guest of honor.Professor Ramjee Prasad give a visionary talk on wireless technology of 2050 and beyond, which is also called (according to him) as New Wireless Era (NWE). He was kind enough to gift 5G book written by him to all the speakers and panelists in the workshop.30+ Industry experts as speakers and Panel Members.
